Terms of service

GrabTab is a service that turns recordings of guitar playing into guitar tabs and standard notation. It is provided as a mobile app and this website, operated by GrabTab from the European Union. By using GrabTab you agree to these terms.

GrabTab does not require you to create an account or provide any personal details. The app identifies your library with an anonymous identifier stored on your device. You are responsible for the device you use GrabTab on; anyone with access to that device can see the tabs stored against it.

You keep ownership of every recording you make. By using the service you grant GrabTab a limited licence to process your recording as needed to generate, store, and show transcriptions back to you.

We use your recordings to improve our models only if you tap Submit correction in the app. See the Privacy policy for exactly what that means.

You agree not to:

• upload recordings you don't have the right to record or transcribe;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the transcription pipeline or the API;
• use the service to break any applicable law.

We may rate-limit, suspend, or block access that abuses the service so it stays available for everyone.

GrabTab offers a free tier with a limit on how many clips you can transcribe per week. If and when paid features are offered, they will be billed through the App Store or Google Play in-app purchase, and cancellations, refunds, and renewals are handled by the platform you subscribed through under their terms.

Transcription is generated automatically and is provided "as is". Accuracy depends heavily on recording quality and is not guaranteed — fret positions, octaves, and complex chords may need correcting. GrabTab is a tool to help you, not an authoritative transcription.

To the extent permitted by law, GrabTab is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be surfaced in the app. You can stop using GrabTab at any time and delete your data from the Delete my data page.

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, where GrabTab is operated. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law of your own country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
